Each day blends culture, nature, and local hospitality, ensuring a short yet meaningful journey into the heart of Sumba.
Your journey begins at Tambolaka Airport (TMC), where your driver-guide will greet you and take you straight to the Kodi area, home to some of Sumba’s most iconic landscapes. The first stop is Weekuri Lagoon, a stunning natural pool with turquoise waters separated from the sea by rocky cliffs—perfect for swimming and enjoying the breathtaking views from above.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at Mandorak Beach, a picturesque stretch of white sand framed by dramatic cliffs like a giant natural gate. Continue to Ratenggaro Village, famous for its towering traditional houses and ancient megalithic tombs that embody Sumba’s cultural richness. Surrounded by dramatic ocean views, this village offers a rare glimpse into authentic Sumbanese life. End the day at Pero Beach, just 20 minutes away, where the fiery sunset paints the horizon. Dinner and overnight stay in Tambolaka.
After breakfast, head to Waikelo Sawah, a cave spring that irrigates the surrounding rice fields. From here, walk to the serene Weekacura River, a refreshing spot in the middle of rice paddies where you can swim and relax.
Enjoy lunch in Waikabubak, before continuing to Prai Ijing Village, one of West Sumba’s most photogenic traditional settlements. Its iconic thatched houses and megalithic heritage make it a favorite stop for cultural encounters and photography. In the afternoon, drive to the southern coast of Lamboya District to visit Marosi Beach and Watu Bela Beach, both known for their sweeping coastlines and natural beauty. Return to Tambolaka in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast and check-out, visit Manola Traditional Village, a hilltop settlement where locals live traditionally amidst breathtaking views. It’s a perfect closing experience, offering insight into Sumba’s living culture and warm hospitality.
