Follow this carefully curated itinerary that takes you across Sumba’s most iconic destinations. Each day is designed to reveal new experiences—whether it’s exploring ancient villages, swimming in crystal-clear lagoons, chasing waterfalls, or enjoying stunning sunsets on the island’s beaches.
Upon arrival, you will be picked up and taken for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Sumba Museum and the Talasi Foundation, Then you can see the local process of traditional salt cooking. In the late afternoon, enjoy the sunset at Mananga Aba Beach before checking in at Sima Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Kodi area to visit Ratenggaro Village and Pero Beach, where you can admire traditional Sumbanese houses with towering roofs that reach more than ten meters high. A lunch box will be provided, either on the beach or at Mandorak Beach. Continue the journey to Waikuri Lagoon, a natural saltwater lagoon surrounded by rocky cliffs. Here, you can enjoy swimming in the clear, refreshing water. In the afternoon, return to Sima Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and continue the journey with a stop at Manola Traditional Village and Waikelo sawah Waterfall. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit Waigalli and Prai Goly Traditional Villages, followed by some relaxing time at Rua Beach. In the afternoon, check in at Manandang Hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Our journey begins with a visit to Prai Ijing Village, followed by Lalopu, the highest waterfall in Sumba (90 m), located within Manupeu Tanah Daru National Park. After enjoying the breathtaking waterfall, lunch will be served at a local restaurant in the city. In the afternoon, continue the drive to East Sumba, a journey of about 5 hours, passing through lush green fields and the stunning savannah landscapes of the Sunset Hills of Wairinding. Upon arrival, check in at Padadita Hotel in Waingapu, the capital of East Sumba Regency. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, the program continues with a visit to Prai Natang Village, located on a hill overlooking the valley and river. Upon arrival, you will pass through the spirit gate and explore the stunning traditional houses. This village is not specially arranged for tourists—this is truly how the local people live their daily lives. With the cool breeze and breathtaking views, it is easy to understand why they choose to remain in this beautiful place. The journey continues with a visit to Tanggedu Waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Sumba. In the afternoon, head to Puru Kambera Beach to enjoy the sunset. Dinner will be served at a local restaurant, and afterward, return to Padadita Hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby and begin the day’s journey by visiting Bukit Tanarara/Hiliwuku Hills and Wai Marang Waterfall. The drive takes you southeast from Waingapu, approximately two hours along the north coast, offering spectacular views of the Sawu Sea and lush green hills. Wai Marang is a stunning waterfall with a natural lagoon where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. Next, continue to Rende, a traditional village on the northeast coast of Waingapu. This historic village was once the residence of King Rindi, featuring megalithic stone tombs shaped like coffins, serving as burial sites for the king and his family. In the afternoon, head to Walakiri Beach, famous for its white sands and iconic “dancing trees,” and relax while waiting for the sunset. Return to Padadita Hotel in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, prepare for the flight back to Bali. Before checking out, make sure nothing has been left at the hotel. Our driver will pick you up at the airport in Bali and transfer.
